EAST MIDLANDS AIRPORT INFORMATION AND LINKS (EMA)

(Nottingham) East Midlands airport is one the fastest growing airports in the UK. The airport is close to the cities of Derby, Nottingham and Leicester right in the middle of England. The airport is owned by the Manchester Airports Group. Recently the airport has seen the launch of new low-cost airline BMIbaby and this year has the widest range of holiday destinations ever! The airport served 4.3million passengers in 2003.

To get to the airport by car, from Nottingham, take the A52 westbound and join the M1 at junction 25 southbound, then continue southbound and exit at junction 24, then follow signs to the airport. From Leicester, take the A6 northbound to junction 24 of the M1, follow signs to the airport or take the M1 northbound and exit at junction 23A. From Derby, you take the A50 southbound and continue until the interchange with junction 24 of the M1 motorway, then follow signs for the airport. From London, take the M1 northbound, continue along the M1 and come off at J23A then follow road signs to the Airport. Click here for a Multimap showing the location of the airport.

The check in desk is located on the ground floor of the terminal. Your travel documents will tell you when the latest time you can check in for your flight is, but it is highly recommended that you do not wait for that time. Try to arrive at the airport with plenty of time to check in so you will have time to just relax and enjoy the airport before your flight.

The information desk is located in the main terminal, which is open 24 hours a day, where, if you have any problems, help is available.Within the airport there are many services available, such as banks, Bureau de Change, ATMs, telephones and toilets. A lost property service is operated by the information desk.

Food halls are available where a wide range of restaurants, cafés, snacks, pubs and bars are on offer. Shopping within the airport will save you a lot of money, as it is tax/duty free. Shops available include a pharmacy, sportswear shop, a music store, gift shops, toyshops, sweet shops, hairdressers and newsagents where you can quickly pick up that last minute thing that you need to purchase.

Flight information is available all around the East Midlands airport. There are flight display screens all over the terminal. You can also find out flight information using the Internet, teletext and telephone. Be sure of all of your flight details and information to make it a smooth journey.
