At Leeds Bradford International there is now a wide range of direct UK and European flights with several national and international carriers, most of whom also offer worldwide connections. Since 1996 the terminal building has virtually doubled in size with new and improved arrivals and departure facilities, lounges and two new air bridges. The airport is situated 13km (8 miles) northwest of Leeds and 11km (7 miles) north of Bradford. The airport has 1 terminal and 1 runway.
By car, from Leeds, you can reach the airport by following signs for Yeadon and Otley on the A660. Just after Bramhope, you should turn onto the A658 towards Yeadon. If driving from Bradford, take the A658 out of the city centre and again following signs for Yeadon and Guiseley. The airport is well signposted from the M1, M62 and Yorkshire section of the A1. The check in desk is located at the entrance of the terminal on the ground floor. Your travel documents will tell you when the latest time you can check in for your flight is, but it is highly recommended that you do not wait for that time. Try to arrive at the airport with plenty of time to check in so you will have time to just relax and enjoy the airport before your flight.
The information desk is located in the arrivals hall where, if you have any problems, help is available. Within the airport, there are many services available. Banks and Bureau de change are available, also telephones and postal facilities. Email and Internet kiosks are available in the Departures lounge.
Food halls are available, located within the terminal, where a wide range of restaurants, cafés, snacks, pubs and bars are on offer. Shopping within the airport will save you a lot of money, as it is tax/duty free. Shops available are a pharmacy, sportswear shop, music store, gift shops, and newsagents where you can quickly pick up that last minute thing that you need to purchase.
There are also other facilities available, such as baby care, located in the departure area. For your young children there is a large children’s play area, which is unsupervised, that has been provided by Airtours and is situated in the International Departure Lounge.
Leeds Bradford airport provide for the disabled. In the short-term car park opposite the terminal, there are reserved car parking spaces. Orange badge holders can park in the short-term car park for extended periods at long-term rates. There is a lift between the Arrivals and Departures concourses. There are disabled toilets, which are situated next to the information desk and in the International Departures lounge. Wheelchairs, ramps, ambulift transport and extra assistance are all available on request from the information desk. Telephones are provided on site if any help is needed.
Flight information is available all around Leeds Bradford airport. There are flight display screens all over the terminal. You can also find out flight information using the Internet, teletext and telephone. Be sure of all of your flight details and information to make it a smooth journey.
