Prestwick airport is one of Scotland’s oldest airports. It bills itself as Scotland's fastest growing airport. The airport is located 32 miles from Glasgow City Centre. The airport doesn’t suffer from any traffic congestion problems common to many major airports due to the location it is in. It serves around 1.4 million passangers per year. The airport has 1 terminal and 1 runway.

By car, the airport is located 35 minutes south west of Glasgow city centre, just off the A77. The airport is situated north of the town of Ayr between Prestwick and Monkton.Click here for a Multimap showing the location of the airport.

The check in desk is located at the entrance of the terminal. Your travel documents will tell you when the latest time you can check in for your flight is, but it is highly recommended that you do not wait for that time. Try to arrive at the airport with plenty of time to check in so you will have time to just relax and enjoy the airport before your flight.

The information desk is located on the ground floor at the entrance to domestic arrivals where, if you have any problems, help is available. Within the airport, there are many services available. Banks and Bureau de change are available, also telephones and postal facilities.

Food halls are available located within the terminal where a wide range of restaurants, cafés, snacks, pubs and bars are on offer. Shopping within the airport will save you a lot of money, as it is tax/duty free. Shops available are a pharmacy, sportswear shop, music store, gift shops, shoe shops and newsagents where you can quickly pick up that last minute thing that you need to purchase.

Prestwick airport provide for the disabled with lifts giving access to both platforms of our railway station, a Skywalk between our railway station and the concourse, a lift between the upper and ground floors of the concourse, a stair lift giving access to The Aviator Suite, disabled toilets on the ground floor of the concourse and in all departure lounges, wheelchairs available, pre-boarding of flights for disabled passengers, and assistance available to disabled passengers on request. The Airport makes no charge for wheelchair assistance or the provision of wheelchairs.
