Location of Algeria
Algeria is located in the North of Africa, which is bordering the Mediterranean
Sea just between Morocco and Tunisia. Algeria is the second-largest
country in Africa after Sudan. It has a population of around 32.8M.
99% of the population are Sunni Muslim, which is the state religion,
the other 1% are Christian and Jewish. The capital of Algeria is
Algiers.
Airports
Algiers Airport (ALG) is located 12 miles east of Algiers. Buses and
trains are available to and from the airport, which travel to the
main city from 6am to 7pm. The travel time to the city is approximately
30 minutes.
Language
The official language which is spoken in Algeria is Arabic. French
and Berber are also spoken. English is only spoken in major business
or tourist centres.
Places To Go
It has been advised only to travel to Algeria for essential business
due to the dangers of terrorism, also numerous incidents of banditry
and assault. A relevantly safe place to visit in Algeria is the Sahara
desert and mountain regions, which are at the south of the country.
