Location Of Angola
Angola is located in Southern Africa, which is bordering the South
Atlantic Ocean, between Namibia and Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Angola has a population of around 10.76M. The main religion is Roman
Catholic (around 51% of its population). There are also other Christian
minorities. The capital of Angola is Luanda.
Airports
Luanda Airport (LAD) is 4km or 2.5 miles away from the city. Within
the airport, there is no form of transport so be sure to arrange
transportation. Arrange to be met by your sponsor or use the transport
service which is provided and available from your hotel.
Language
The official language spoken in Angola is Portuguese. The majority
of the population also speak African languages such as Umbundu, Kimbundu,
Kikongo and Chokwe.
Places To Go
The Kissama National Park lies 70km or 45 miles south of Luanda. This
Park is home to a great variety of wild animals. For accommodation
there are bungalows available, located in the middle of the park.
All visitors must bring their own food. During rainy season, the
park is closed.
The Calandula Waterfalls are located in the Malanje area where you can see an impressive spectacle, particularly at the end of the rainy season.
