Location of Nigeria
Nigeria has borders with Niger to the north, Chad (across Lake Chad) to the north-east, Cameroon to the east and Benin to the west. To the south, the Bight of Benin and the Bight of Biafra indent the Gulf of Guinea.

Airports
Lagos international airport is 13 miles north of Lagos and the travel time is around 40 minutes. Taxis to the city are available. There is a free coach service every ten minutes.

Kano international is 5 miles north of Kano and the travel time is about 25 minutes. Buses leave for the city every ten minutes 06:00-22:00, and taxis are available.

Language
The official language is English. A variation of English (Pidgin English) is also spoken. Another 400 languages are also spoken in the country.

Places To Go
There are nightclubs in many of the hotels in Lagos and in the Surulere district. Some clubs have live entertainment, details of which are given in the local newspapers. North of Oyo in Ogbomosho, there is a lively market, particularly in the evenings. Local festivals, which generally take place in the summer months, provide a good opportunity to see dancing, music and traditional costumes.
