A family vacation can be a very special thing and for many people,
happy memories of family vacations are something they carry around
with them for life.
Here are a few tips for planning a family vacation:
- Try to go somewhere every family member wants to go. There is nothing
worse than trying to have fun while one or two family members are
moaning about some other place they'd rather be.
- Vacation within your budget. Nobody will have fun if you spend
everything just getting there and aren't able to do anything once
you are there.
- Have fun now, don't pay later. Don't put your vacation on credit
because the happy memories may fade if you have to spend the rest
of the year paying for the vacation.
- Check inclusions. Make sure your travel agent confirms what is
included in your package.
- Get all necessary health check-ups and vaccinations before you
go.
- Get adequate travel insurance to cover
the whole family.
- Pack only what you need so you aren't carrying too much luggage.
- Check for travel advisories for your destination.
- Keep a separate copy of your itinary and important papers. Let
other family or friends know your itinary.
